A Journal Entry

This has been a very routine month. There isn't much by way of events to tell about. But since I have started blogging it has become my journal. There is an entry that I want to record, not so much because it has to be shared with everyone, but because I don't want to forget what happened.

The first thing is about sweet Carter. I am so proud of him. As I blogged earlier, Camille had a birthday, and for her birthday Carter used his reward "money" from school to buy her a gift all on his own. At his school the kids are rewarded for good behavior, work done well, and that sort of thing with tokens or money as the kids call it. Every month the children can take their tokens to the castle in the library and buy a reward. Rewards range from pencils and erasers to stuffed animals and bigger toys. The bigger the item the more tokens it will cost. Carter came home after castle Friday so happy because he used all his 79 "dollars" to buy Camille a stuffed animal for her birthday. He wrapped it and gave it to her at her party. I am so proud of Carter for thinking of his sister and wanting to get something special for her on his own.

The second thing I hope to never forget is about Camille. I was sitting at the kitchen table getting caught up on some paper work for my church calling and Camille was in the family room off of the kitchen watching TV. As I was working I heard Camille in the background praying. I turned around to look at her and she was kneeling down and saying a prayer. When she finished I asked what she had prayed for and she said that her stomach had started to hurt and so she said a prayer that it would be better. I asked if she was feeling okay and she said that now she was and that Jesus made her stomach stop hurting after she finished her prayer. It is so sweet to see my five year old already applying the principles we as parents are trying to teach her. I was touched that she would pray and ask for help when she needed it.
