This past week has been the assorted kid activities, tasks about the home, and church obligations, but a few conversations have stood out from all the others. Those conversations that I wonder WHERE did that come from? The first belongs to Sara, who always seems to cause me to scratch my head in awe. She and Katie had the task of cleaning their room, easy for Katie, but causes Sara (and myself) much grief. Katie had finished and moved onto other tasks as I walked in to talk with Sara and find out why nothing was put away yet. I recited the traditional motherly words of wisdom which included some thoughts (among others) about everyone needing to help and the importance of learning to tidy up after yourself. As I was coming up to a great finish with I won't always be around to help and direct you, my brilliant daughter in complete seriousness comments "its okay mom, I don't have to learn to clean because I am going to hire a house keeper". I ask her how she is going to pay for the housekeeper she remarks-"easy, I am going to be rich and famous because I will be a movie star after high school. In fact I am going to hire you a housekeeper also with my extra money". Oh, the dreams of a nine year old--Good luck Sara!!
The second conversation was from Carter. He was very prepared and told me he wanted to talk about something. I sat next to him and he started for the next five minutes trying to convince me with all the reason of a six year old why we needed to adopt a boy his age (he said six or maybe seven). It is too bad he is stuck in a house with mostly girls (our dog is female also), I hope our new neighborhood has a nice group of little boys!
Kid can be so funny- most of the time I love that they think what they are thinking-the other times it can be embarrassing, but it comes with the territory.

That is really funny. I really like Sara's idea. Your house is looking great. That is so fun to see pictures.
Can she hire me a house keeper too, or maybe just marry one of my boys? That would take care of it, don't you think? I feel for Carter too, We have all the boys here at our house including the dogs, and just Haven and I.
That is too cute! I love Carter's idea. I remember doing something similar when I was a kid. I sat my dad down and explained to him why it was a good idea for him to give each of us kids $1000 to spend.
So, let us know the name of the kid you decide to adopt!
