On Thursday 8/27 Carter started first grade. He is getting to be such a big boy. It was hard for me to watch him leave knowing that he was going to be gone all day. He loves his teacher, Mrs. Bogard, and loves packing lunch. After the first day he came home upset that he didn't get any homework. The girls have been telling him that this year was going to be harder, and he said it was just like kindergarten with coloring and stories. I had to reassure him that it will get harder and he will have to practice reading alot more.

Sara and Katie started on Tuesday 8/25. Sara is in fifth grade now at the intermediate school. She has Mrs. Woods and thinks that she is nice and this will be a fun year. She was nervous about the bigger school, but I think it is finally becoming easier after a few days.

This is the hard one, Katie is in seventh grade-Junior High!! I can't believe that she is already old enough for Junior High. She now has to switch classes every period and has a locker. She is still doing Orchestra and started Spanish. I told her she has no excuses for not getting an A in Spanish with dad home to help her! Her gym teacher is the High school football coach and her math teacher is the Jr. high football coach as well as the varsity women's basketball coach, and her science teacher is the girls golf coach. It is fun being in a small school district, every one seems to know each other and be connected some how. So far she likes all of her teachers so far and thinks she can still keep her straight A average.

I can't believe your kids are so big either!!! I love that Carter was all disappointed that first grade wasn't hard enough--such a glutton for punishment!
