Gone are the days that I blogged daily or weekly, now it seems I am good if I can write once a month. So I will update for the month of December and post some pictures.
December is busy with all the Holiday concerts, programs, and shows. Each of my kids had such a program. So we were busy with orchestra concerts (Katie), choir concerts (Sara), and 2nd grade musicals (Carter) in addition to many, many Christmas parties and activities. But it is always a fun month.
This Christmas was extra special because after years of doing Christmas on our own in Ohio we went back to Utah and shared the Season with our families. We drove out and luckily had good weather both going and coming- it's always a little scary when faced with Wyoming in winter, but all good this year. The highlight of the trip was Carter's baptism on December 23 (also Joseph Smith's birthday). He was baptized in Logan by Brad and we had most of our extended family present.
While in Utah we spent the first week in Logan with the Carters and made a trip to temple square to see the lights, had a big Christmas Eve party that included a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and went up to Hardware Ranch (in Blacksmith Fork) and took a sleigh ride to see the elk up close. Carter and the "boys" went to BYU to see the basketball game against UTEP (as a special treat after Carter's baptism), the Cougars winning 89-68. Nice for Carters first Y game. We also saw Tangled in theaters and went to Preston (vote for Pedro!) for Chinese food on Christmas evening-we wanted to live the "Christmas Story" minus the beheaded duck.
The second week we spent in Salt Lake City with the Mosteller family. We had a family Christmas party in Lehi with a lot of food, gifts and cousin time. We made a family trip to the BYU campus to get our souvenirs and ice cream from the creamery, and work on the brain washing of our children (everyone knows that BYU is the best!). Mostly it was a relaxing week with lots of family and friends.

I think we had that EXACT same trip last winter (minus the baptism)! Seriously, Hardware Ranch, Temple Square, and the whole thing. So glad you were able to have your family there for the baptism. Happy New Year!
